I started out in marketing managing an eBay store for a second-hand store... when I approached my manager to start a Facebook page for the store I was told 'That's fine, just don't spend too much time on it.' Now that is this store's main source of marketing and it is hugely successful! From there I started doing more courses on marketing and learning on the job in the businesses I work for. I loved helping family and friends start their own businesses and marketing; I recon if I can teach my Mother-in-law who had no Facebook experience at all to set up a successful Facebook page for her craft group, almost every small business can do it themselves too.
